Bob Gruen was born in 1945. He resides in New York.

Bob Gruen photographs Rock and Roll. Backstage, on stage or off-stage, he has captured through his photographs the private and public moments of legendary musicians. A native of Long Island, New York, Gruen began his career in the late sixties when he was hired by Atlantic Records to photograph a party for the Bee Gees. He went on to spend time on the road with such musical giants as the Rolling Stones, Ike and Tina Turner and Led Zeppelin and continues to document young musicians today.ptures the life John and Yoko shared in photographs and words.

Bob Gruen became John Lennon and Yoko Ono's personal photographer in 1972 and a trusted friend, resulting in some of the most intimate and honest photographs of the couple.
His mother taught him photography.
• He loves old American cars and has a unique collection of jackets.
